Jocy turns 3!!!

Two days after Halloween we decided we hadn't partied enough, so we had all of Adam's family, the Allreds and the Schroders over to celebrate Jocelyn's 3rd birthday. Grandma Horne had the kids during the day, so I could clean and get ready for the party. Jocy celebrated her birthday 3 times: first at breakfast, then at lunch with Aunt Heather, Grandma Horne and cousins, and then for dinner. Aunt Heather made Jocelyn a beautiful beaded necklace and bracelet.

We had yummy hamburgers, then opened presents. Jocelyn was very spoiled b
y everyone and now she has a fully furnished doll house along with two new beautiful dress ups and lots of other fun stuff. (Makenna was going crazy the next morning trying to play with all the new stuff, much to Jocelyn's frustration.) I made a sleeping beauty cake that turned out alright as long as you didn't look too close! Jocelyn loved it as she has become a huge Sleeping Beauty fan, (leaving Cinderella somewhat in the dust.) Everyone had a great time at the party and the kids enjoyed dancing to music before everyone left!

Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

What a couple hectic weeks Halloween brought us! This year we started the festivities off by taking on a fun but time consuming project: making a darth vader pumpkin and a princess pumpkin! The kids had seen these made at Michaels and begged us for them, unfortunately they weren't for sale so we ended up making our own. Hopefully they will survive years of storage and be worth the time it took us to make them!

Next we took a trip to the pumpkin patch on a very very windy day!!! Despite the wind we still had a good time in the corn maze with our friends.

On the 26th we went to the valley and did trunk or treat with the Holts. The kids had fun and got lots of candy, so I don't know why we did trunk or treat on Halloween, but we did! We also went to the Horne-Devoney Halloween party and a story hour party! Needless to say we have TONS of candy!!!

Makenna's first pumpkin carving, She didn't know what to think.

In case you aren't Star wars experts, Braydon was OBI-WAN KENOBI for the 2nd year in a row, his choice.(although I was glad he got some use out of the costume I made) Jocelyn was a good witch and Makenna was a cute little pig. I threw on my hula stuff from the class I'm taking to be a good sport, and Adam wore his Pharaoh hat. We had a great time, but glad this holiday is over!

After a month of doing the inchworm Makenna finally has the crawling thing DOWN. That's good and bad because now she is into everything and Mom is going crazy trying to keep up with her and keeping Braydon's Star Wars toys out of her mouth.

The whole family at the top of Sunrise Mountain. Makenna, Adam, Braydon, Jocelyn and Monica. Having a great time before the end of the Summer.

Our first attempt

Hello everyone! Adam and I have decided that it was time to stop letting life pass us by, and time to start recording some memories. We have 3 beautiful children and are always up to something crazy or just looking cute and we don't want to rely on our aging memories to remember all joy they've brought to us. Our new goal is to start a family blog and keep an ongoing journal of our life. However right now we are experiencing one of the many crisises of the day, so we'll have to continue this later.
